Build Your Own Skis: Meet Zeus
Don't be fooled by imitations, Parlor Skis has always been the home of the original build your own skis class. Luckily, after a few years of helping people to craft their own planks, we have a pool of past clients to get feedback from. To that tune, we've handpicked a few customers as original as we are for an interview series.
As an Air Force Pilot, Skier, Dad, and all-around bad ass, Micah "Zeus" Fesler seemed like the right dude to get the series started with. Read along below to learn more about Micah, and our build your own skis class.
What is your name, where are you from, and what do you do for a living?
MF: Micah “Zeus" Fesler, from Salt Lake City, Utah, I’m an Air Force F-22 pilot
--
What do you love most about skiing?
MF: The solitude and beauty of being in the mountains, hiking to my favorite powder stache floating on fatty skis in waist deep pow and screaming through the trees.
--
Do you have any past experiences with woodworking?
MF: I have some experience with woodworking. I’ve built a lot of decks, shelves, and picnic tables. None of those things were the same as building skis.
--
What was your favorite part of the build class?
MF: Hanging out and working with the great Parlor crew (humans and dogs) and turning a few pieces of wood into my pair of dream skis!
--
Have you skied on your custom skis yet? On a scale of 1-10 how stoked are you?
MF: I have not had a chance to ski on them yet but plan on taking them home to Utah and showing them off at the annual charity winter triathlon that I host every year. It’s a skiing, fly fishing, beer drinking triathlon. I’m at an 11 on a 1-10 scale of stoked.
Micah, if you're reading this, I'd love an invite to the triathlon - James.
Be like Micah, build your own skis.
